For the 2014 model year, the Cherokee can be outfitted with a variety of innovative safety features, some of which are offered on a Chrysler Group vehicle for the first time:

  • One of the firsts for a Chrysler Group vehicle is the all-new Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist. When the turn signal is engaged, ultrasonic sensors are able to scan parking spaces to find one that is the right size to accommodate the Cherokee. If you have trouble backing into a perpendicular parking spot or parallel parking, the system will help guide you. This feature is available on the Trailhawk and Limited trim levels.
  • Also available on the Trailhawk and Limited trim levels is Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Plus. This system employs both video sensors and radar to help keep a preset distance between the Cherokee and the car ahead. The driver has the option of four different following distances.
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Mitigation is also an option with the Trailhawk and Limited versions of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. If Adaptive Cruise Control Plus is not activated, this system is able to detect traffic gap changes. If a fast-closing danger is detected ahead by the video sensors and radar, the system will pre-fill the brakes, making it easier for the driver to react. If the risk of a collision does not diminish, the system will notify the driver with audible and visual warnings and briefly deploy the brakes.
  • LaneSense Lane Departure measures a vehicle’s position within driving lanes. If the system senses that the vehicle is drifting toward the edge of the lane and the turn signal is not on, it will send the driver a visual warning in addition to feedback through the steering wheel. This feature can be yours with the Trailhawk and Limited trim levels.
