Off-Road Trails Near Calgary

Are you looking for a fun place to go off-roading near Calgary? The team at Crestview Chrysler is here with a list of some of our favorite off-road trails near us (as well as a variety of high-quality and affordable used Jeep SUVs that are off-road ready).

Ruby Falls Trail

This trail isn’t for the light of heart, but it’s fun and diverse terrain — including a number of muddy areas, substantial river crossing, and a gigantic mud pit.

Time to complete: 6 hours

Difficulty: Moderate

Lost Knife Trail

The general terrain of Lost Trail is of “moderate” difficulty, but there’s a wide range on offer for anyone from beginner to expert off-roaders. There’s also an incredible lookout from the top of the hill.

Difficulty: Easy/Moderate

Medicine Lake to Gosling Lake

This fun and relatively level off-road trail takes you from Medicine Lake down to Gosling Lake, and it’s a great spot for beginner 4×4 drivers looking to improve their skills.

Difficulty: Easy

Cardinal Falls Trail

At this time, the Cardinal Falls Trail is closed for off-roading, but when it opens up it is a fun trail with some difficult terrain and incredible alpine views.

Time to complete: 19.5 hours

Difficulty: Moderate

Trans-Alta Trail

Drive up this old washout and enjoy incredible views along the way. Stop along the way for a picnic, and make sure to take a camera along because there are some incredible views throughout the trail.

Difficulty: Easy
