The 2013 Ram Cargo Van vs. The 2013 Ford Transit Connect
No matter how big or small a business is, sacrifices should never be made when it comes to the vehicles they need to get the job done. That’s why here at Crestview Chrysler in Regina, we are proud to offer our hard-working customers the 2013 Ram Cargo Van. This supremely capable model provides best-in-class interior storage and best-in-class performance to tackle any job. However, those looking for a great commercial van might also encounter the 2013 Ford Transit Connect during their search. Lets take a look at how these two rivals stack up against each other!
Capability For Every Occasion
- Under the Hood: Standard with all 2013 Ram Cargo Vans is Canada’s number-one selling motor, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. It puts out 283 hp and 260 lbs-ft of torque for a powerful, responsive drive. The Ram Cargo Van also has the best driving range in its class of over 950 km. The new Ford Transit Connect’s engine lags way behind, producing only 136 hp and 128 lbs-ft of torque.
- Commercial Engineering at its Finest: To help make heavy-duty work a little easier, the Ram Cargo Van is equipped with a radiator and oil cooler in order to keep the vehicle running smoothly during long periods of operation. It also has a maximum payload capacity of 816 kg and 4,078 L of interior cargo space. The Ford Transit Connect doesn’t have a heavy-duty radiator or oil cooler, and only has a maximum payload capacity of 721 kg.
Safety for Occupants and Cargo Alike
- Airbags: Not only does the 2013 Ram Cargo Van feature multistage front airbags and supplemental front seat side airbags, but the cargo area is also equipped with side curtain airbags to ensure that it stays just as safe as the vehicle’s occupants. The new Ford Transit Connect does not have side curtain airbags in the cargo area.
- Stability Control: While the 2013 Ford Transit Connect does have a roll stability control system, the new Ram Cargo Van cuts out the middle man to prevent the risk of a roll from even occurring thanks to its electronic stability control. If the Ram Cargo Van ends up driving during undesirable road conditions, the stability control system will apply selective braking and throttling to restore the vehicle’s intended direction.
