The 2015 Jeep Renegade Design Proves Itself Worthy of Imitation
The 2015 Jeep Renegade’s design is so successful that it will serve as template for future vehicles from Chrysler, and that should have drivers in Regina and Moose Jaw excited for the future.
The Renegade represents the first small crossover Jeep has offered, in an attempt to appeal to young new buyers. Designed in the U.S., it was nevertheless built in Italy on a Fiat platform. The Renegade’s two four-wheel-drive system options, its iconic seven-slot grille, and its two open-air roof options all differentiate it from other vehicles out there and render it recognizable as a classic Jeep. Nevertheless, the 2015 Renegade’s design was a successful test case in evaluating whether the Fiat and Chrysler product teams would work well together, and it seems obvious now that they can.
The International Renegade
Fit to be sold internationally, the Renegade will be available in over 100 countries. Perhaps it’s this intercontinental crossbreeding of ideas that makes the Renegade so unique. For example, Chrysler’s American engineers and designers had a classic ruddy and tough image in mind for the Renegade, whereas Europeans envisioned it as a city vehicle with an edge. Senior Vice President of Fiat Chrysler Auto’s Product Design Ralph Gilles describes it as an “urban jungle-fighter machine.” While engineering, design, and production will stay primarily in already-established sites in America and Europe, the new headquarters will find itself in London.

A five-seater with plenty of cargo versatility and interior space, an iconic seven-slot grille tucks, and an overall look that is handsome and aggressive look, the Renegade is quite appealing. On the other hand, its Selec-Terrain traction system means it will be more than capable in an off-road environment.
